TGIF

Wow this has been a very long week! The traveling and all the excitement has worn me out. And the huge pile of work on my desk when I got to the office didn't help. Taking time off is wonderful it's the going back to work that kills ya! And next week I will be in Mexico so I just can't imagine how much of a backlog I will return to. Honestly it scares me a little bit. But Mexico will sure be nice.

Tonight we went to a play at summer theatre at the University. It was called Plaza Suite and it was really good. I laughed a lot. We go to quite a few plays at the school and I'm always impressed. For being a smaller university they really have a great theatre department. I always enjoy myself. Very talented folks. This is probably the last play I will get to for awhile. Taking a baby to a theatre isn't the best plan. So I enjoyed it tremendously.

Tommorow is my birthday and my Grandparents 60th wedding anniversary party! Isn't that amazing. 60 years of marriage. Pretty inspiring. I'm excited for their big day. It should be fun. I know they are excited about the party. Off to finish up my to do list so I can head to bed.

Good night all!

Boys Rule

I'm home from Louisiana and I'm thrilled to announce that Miss N is going to have a baby boy!!!! He is already 6lbs and 4 ounces and isn't due until July 23rd. But it looks like the doctor is probably going to want to deliver him in just a few weeks so around the 9th or 10th probably. They don't want him to get much over 8lbs. I'm so excited. Seeing his little heart beating on the sonogram made my heart skip a beat. I've never fallen in love at first sight before! It's overwhelming and amazing and inspiring and terrifying all at once. I can't believe I love one little person so much. I'm going to have a son and that blows my mind! I can't wait to hold him!!!!

Travel Time

I'm heading to Louisiana today to meet up with Miss N. Tomorrow she has a sonogram and doctors appointment so I will be going with her. I'm so excited to see her in person and to hopefully be able to find out if the baby is a boy or a girl. I will be home on Thursday so I will post then. Hopefully I will have some fun news!

Weird Kid

I've told you all abuot my cute neighbor kid. The little boy that comes over to play basketball. He is way fun and cool. I love having him around. He's helpful and polite and just fun. Well those qualities must not run in his family. He must just be a streak of good luck because his sister is freaking weird!

This kid is driving me nuts today. She has come over about 15 times today for just random things. First she wanted to see who had come to visit me, it was Kelci, then she brought my newspaper to the door, then she wanted to see if I was still home because she noticed that a car was gone from the driveway. Seriously kid GO HOME! Finally she asked if she could look at my house. I think that's what she wanted all along. So I said yes and let her in and she wandered around for a minute said it was nice and left.

All of that was just annoying me some but the really weird part is what she has been carrying around with her all day. She has this huge orange plastic Halloween bag the kind you trick or treat with. Well she has it filled with kittens! Yes I said kittens!!! Her house is the crazy cat house as I call it. THey have like 30 cats that roam all over the neighborhood. On a bad day I can smell cat shit as soon as I step outside. And now there are seven more kittens. I'm thinking though that if she keeps hauling them around in that bag though some of them will die off. Like I said WEIRD KID!!!

Missing Her

I'm really missing my mom today. I miss her all the time but some days are worse than others. This is one of those days. The more excited I get about the baby coming and the more work I do to prepare the more I miss her. I just really wish she was here to be a part of it. She would be an amazing grandma and she would be so so excited.

It was just about a year ago when I took off work to stay home with her the last few months of her life. I remember her asking me why I was doing that and I explained to her that I didn't want to miss out on any time with her. We talked a lot those last few months and several conversations were about my fears of having to live without her here. My biggest fear was having children without her. She kept telling me it would be okay that I would be a great mom. I think she is right. I know I'm going to be okay and I know I'm gonna be a good mom. You can't have a mom like the one I have and not be good. I learned from one of the best.

Even though I know it's going to be okay it doesn't lessen my longing for her. Some times it's pure desperation. I would so love to see her hold my baby. I know if she was alive she would go with me to Louisiana when the baby is born and help me. She would be such an excited freak about it all. I just feel like we all got robbed of what should have been. Eventually I'm going to have to get over that but she was just so young and we had so many hopes for the future.... I just wish we could have had more time....

Trim Sucks

Seriously painting trim should be something you only have to do if you are sent to hell. It is the biggest pain in the butt! I absolutely hate it. We did two coats tonight and it still probably needs another two coats. What a hassle. The only pay off is that it should look cute when it's done. But there ought to be an easier way.

After spending so much time in the nursery painting we have determined that the lighting is crap in there. So while my dad is here visiting next week I'm going to beg him to put a different light in there to brighten things up a bit. I'm thinking that I might get a ceiling fan while I'm at it because it's also pretty warm in there too. This has been the most expensive and time consuming room to redo in this house so I might as well go all out now. What's another 100 bucks at this point.

I'm hoping that my kid is really really cute and can maybe be in commercials or something and make a few bucks. They could be the next Welch's grape juice kid or something. A girl can wish right... :-)

Quick Trip

I talked to Miss N or the babies momma as Heather calls her today. Heather is such a smartass isn't she. Miss N has a doctor's appointment and sonogram on the 27th of June and wants me to come. So I found a reasonably priced plane ticket and I'm gonna fly there on the evening of the 26th and come back on the morning of the 28th. It will be very quick but it will be nice to meet Miss N in person and I'm so excited to be able to see the baby on the sonogram! We will hopefully be able to find out if it is a boy or a girl. That might make the name debate a little easier.

I went ahead and applied for both of the new positions at work. Comedy Plus pointed out in the comments that I could apply but wouldn't have to take the new position if it was offerred to me. And she is right. I figured the interview would give me a chance to ask some questions and determine if it would be a good fit. So the interviews should be around the middle of July hopefully before I'm gone on maternity leave. I hate doing phone interviews so I'm crossing my fingers.

That's what I know for the day

P.S. Comedy I'm a cancer my b-day is June 30th.

Painting Pals

Heather and I are painting pals. We got the first coat of paint done in the nursery and we are getting ready to start round two. We should be able to finish everything but the trim tonight. Then we can finish that part up tomorrow! We are ahead of schedule!!!

Today I had an interesting discussion with my boss. I guess they are opening up a couple of new positions at work. There is a second supervisor spot coming open and also an adoption coordinator spot. She wants me to apply for both and consider taking a promotion. More money would be nice but I'm a little worried about shifting to a more supervisory role and having a new baby. I don't want to much new stuff at once if that makes sense. I'm a perfectionist is with work and would want to overdo I know. And I have a feeling I might be an overacheiving mom too so that could lead to a lot of work. But it's something else for me to think about when I'm up at night right...

Spring Cleaning

Something happened tonight and Heather and I went a little crazy. It was kinda like Spring cleaning in the middle of summer. We got rid of so much stuff and cleaned so much stuff. Clearing out stuff to make room for baby! Heather is a little slave driver. Everytime I finished with one thing she would give me something else to do. My chore list kept getting longer and longer. I just wanted to quit and watch Nip/Tuck but she kept pushing. It's a good thing because we have so much stuff to get done before the baby comes and she helps keep me on track. Thank God for that girl! If we keep it up for the next couple weeks everything will fall into place nicely.

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day Dad! My Dad is in Texas so I didn't get to see him today but I called and wished him a happy Dad's Day and sent him a card. I'll get to see him next week when he comes to visit. That will be good. I know he went to church and out to lunch with Cricket and then he worked in his yard. He always has some yard project going and now he is installing a huge bronze fountain he bought at an auction so that kept him busy today. I thought maybe he would take a nap and chill out on Father's Day but not so much. Maybe next year...

Anyways love ya Dad!

Mint Mania

Today I went to visit my Aunt Phyllis. We spent the day making mints for my grandparents anniversary party. Their 60th anniversary party is on June 30th and we are just trying to knock things off the to do list. I had never made mints before but it was way easy and it ended up being fun. I thought it would be some huge process but it was very simple.

All we did was mix 3 ounces of cream cheese with 3 cups of powdered sugar, added a little mint flavor and some coloring and mixed it all up. Then you roll the goo in sugar and put them in the molds. The key is to use a lot of sugar so they pop out of the molds easily. We made close to 300 of them. It didn't take that long and I tasted a few and they are really yummy. In fact after I explained to Grandpa what the appropriate mint response was he let me know that they were the best mints he had every had in his life.

Tomorrow I should do some painting but the pool is calling to me so I may wind up spending the day soaking. Heather is visiting Kelsey this weekend so I'm not to motivated to do some big project on my own. Swimming sounds way more fun....

Wax Warrior

Today I went to my cousin Sara's new salon. It's been open several months but I hadn't been before so decided that today was the day to check it out. It is really cute. She and her husband and parents have put a lot of work into it. She has a great set up. She cut and colored my hair. I have some beautiful red highlights and I'm loving my new cut.

I thought I was just getting my hair cut but Sara had other plans. Sara looks like a very nice girl. She is little and pretty and talks nice and seems gentle. But I learned today that it is all a show. Deep down inside she is evil. She looks nice but oh no she is a mean mean girl. She told me she wanted to color my eyebrows. She told me to close my eyes. The next thing I know she is putting wax on my eyebrows and before I could maneuver out of the chair she was tearing my little hairs out of my head. I'm not sure if it was me or my baby hairs screaming at the top of their lungs! It was like fire in my face. I really think I peed my pants. I couldn't even catch my breath before she riped the next eye brow off. I was screaming and she was laughing. Evil evil girl!

Seriously I thought I was going to sit up and have no eyebrows. I thought she might have even torn my brow bone on my face. But when I sat up and the tears stopped enough for me to see I still had two eyebrows. And they are very neatly defined now. It does open up the eye and the bright red skin for sure draws attention to it. So I love my hair, I hate the waxing, and Sara's shop is nice. But I do think she should rename it Sara's little shop of torture.

Jessie

My waxing experience reminded me of this clip from the 40 year old virgin. It has a lot of curse words in it so I wouldn't watch it at work or if you are easily offended. If you just wanna laugh like crazy then enjoy.

Just Call Me Momma

Well the phone conference went AMAZING today! Miss N and I really clicked and she has decided that I am the person she wants to parent her little baby! I'm so stinking excited. And I'm scared. And I'm overwhelmed. And I'm emotional. And I'm doing the math and she is due in 41 days!!! That isn't far away at all. July 23rd is creeping around the corner. I have much to do! So why am I typing. I should be getting to work!

Summer School

I'm not such a big fan of summer school. I had classes most of the day today and I was bored out of my mind. I just have so much to do at work this week and all I could think about was how much further behind I was getting. Hopefully I will be able to get caught up a little tomorrow...

Heather and I have been watching Nip/Tuck like crazy lately. We have all the seasons on DVD and we are almost finished with the first season. We just started watching them on Saturday. It's turning into a horrible sickly addiction. I just can't get enough of it though. It's so wrong but feels so right. :-)

Got a call tonight about a possible adoption situation. They are going to present my information to a birth mom in Louisiana tomorrow. If she likes it we will schedule a conference call. I'm hoping this one is a go. I'm ready to bring a baby home!!!

Not Productive

Heather and I had big plans for today. We were gonna move some furniture around in the house and we were going to start painting the nursery. But we finally got the pool set up and the water looked so tempting and wonderful and our plans went out the window.

We ended up spending the afternoon in the pool. Since it just got refilled last night the water was REALLY cold but it was so worth the numbness in our limbs. It was so relaxing to just float and do a whole lot of nothing. Maybe we will be productive tomorrow... or maybe we will swim some more. Who knows!

Pictures

Who knew that getting pictures on here would be such a process. Blogger has been fighting with me. After about 10 attempts I think I have everything loaded now... Hopefully it will post!

This wheelbarrow was my grandpa's. My mom and I painted it and I have always filled it with Petunia's. I can't believe how much they have grown already. By the end of summer they will be overflowing the sides.

I collect teapots and this happens to be one of my favorites. Heather found this for me last fall and I love it! Every morning when I walk out on my patio I see it sitting on the table and it just makes me happy. I'd rather have flowers than tea any day!

I found this antique baby stoller a couple weeks ago and had to have it. It's something different and it can hold flowers so you can't beat that. My dog Lena really loves it for some reason. I always find her trying to hide behind it.

I've used this three tiered flower basket for five years now! I bought it so cheap from LTD I think. I can't believe it has held up so well. But I love it! I always add some vinca vine to it and it grows and fills in so wonderfully. It will be huge by the end of summer.

This is our first whole summer in this house so I was pleasantly suprised when I walked out on the patio the other morning to find these beautiful flowers blooming on the lattice work above the fence. They are so pretty. I don't know for sure what they are so if anyone knows I'd love the info. I just love the pale lavender. Very pretty little flowers.

Here are Heather and Kelci getting ready to go on their trip. They have their boarding passes and they were pretty excited. I'm guessing they didn't look that happy two days later when they finally got to Greece.

This is Darby and I not going on vacation but taking the girls to the airport. I can't wait till we have our going to Mexico picture. Only 6 weeks till we go!!!

Back in Kansas

Heather and Kelci are back in Kansas! I'm so glad. Heather is staying at Kelci's place tonight and then she is coming home tomorrow. It will be good to see her. She sounds worn out but it also sounds like they ended up having a great time even though the trip started off rough. I'm looking forward to seeing all her pictures.

Speaking of pictures I finally remembered to take some of my flowers when I was outside today. So I need to get them off my camera and onto the computer. I promise I'll post some later tonight or tomorrow.

Profile

Well it's been an odd couple days. I got so excited about the call I got and now I'm let down. The agency that was representing the birthmom doesn't work with singles so that match won't be happening. But I'm confident that the baby for me is out there! God knows the beginning and the end and I have faith that he will pick a better ending to this story than I ever could. So I push forward.

To get my profile out for more birthfamilies to see I'm now on the agency website. You can click here to see it! So if you know anyone that is interested in making an adoption plan for their baby you can send them that way!

Dreams

Well Darby and I have decided where we are going when our passports arrive. Since the original trip of our dreams turned into a nightmare we decided that the best place for us to go is the Dreams Resort and Spa in Puerto Vallarta Mexico!

It looks amazing! The rooms are beautiful, there are white beaches and clear waters. They have several pools. It's all inclusive!!! They have theme nights and activities. We can drink and swim and eat and explore. We can do nothing at all. Sounds like paradise to me! So that's our dream and that's where we are headed.

www.encyclocentral.com is sponsoring this post and is also responsible for filling my head with all kinds of random information. This site has lots of info on lots of different things. If you want to know about Online Business you can find the information there. If your looking for a new Hobby you are bound to find a few good suggestions. And if you are just needing a good laugh they have a large section devoted to Humor.

TGIF

I'm so glad it is finally Friday! This has felt like the longest week ever! Very stressful for what was supposed to be a vacation week for me. I'm hoping that Darby and I will get our passports soon so we can go on vacation. Supposedly our Senators are still working on it.

I just got off the phone with Heather and Kelci. They had a fabulous time time yesterday and their luggage has arrived. That made them very happy girls. Heather was watching the sun come up as we were talking and she said the view from their room is amazing. Both she and Kelci warned me that Darby and I won't be getting great gifts from Greece. I guess everything is really expensive and they are having a hard time finding anything cool that they can afford. I don't really care about a gift I just can't wait to see their pictures.

I went and got paint for the nursery today. It took the guys at Sherwin-Williams an hour to get my paint colors matched to the bedding but they did it. I was so impressed. They really worked at it and didn't give up till they got it matched perfectly. It's hard to get good customer service but they really went above and beyond. I just wish that they would come paint the room for me.

I am going to have to have my dad put up a chair rail around the middle of the room after I get done painting. The bottom of the walls will be a chocolate brown color (Baby Wagoner Brown) as the guys titled it and the top part of the walls will be white and green (Baby Wagoner Green)stripes. The green is really pretty and matches the bedding perfectly. It will take awhile to get it all painted but it will hopefully look really cute when it is done.

Jessie

Paintball

It's been awhile since I've enjoyed some paintball. When I was in high school I played several times with groups of friends. We always had a great time but I always ended up getting hit way more than anyone else. I'm not the best at hiding I suppose.

Well the other day I saw that a paintball supply store was opening in town. I was shocked at the cost of paintball supplies. The prices they had advertised were really expensive! I don't know why anyone would spend that much money on items when they could shop online for discount paintball supplies. You can get discount paintball guns and discount paintball markers.

Ultimate Paintball has a wide variety of paintball products. They carry several top brands and various paintball guns. They also offer free shipping which make it an even better deal to shop online. Save the money and take the time to order online so you can get discount paintball goods and have a great time!
