Thursday Thirteen
1. Accountability! I'm most successful when I'm accountable to others. The Blogging Biggest Loser competition I'm hosting on my blog and at work will help me a lot! 2. Exercise! I need to getting moving at least 4 days a week. 3. Water! Drinking at a minimum of 8 glasses of water a day will help. 4. Support From Others! By visiting the blogs of the other biggest loser contestents I can get support and ideas. 5. Switching it Up! I need to not get in a rut by doing the same things every day. I need to try new foods and new exercise routines. 6. No fast food! 7. Write down what I eat! Keeping track of my food intake helps me to be accountable. 8. Set goals! I like to set short term goals and long term goals to help me stay focused. 9. Eat a healthy breakfast! I have found that if I start the day off right I'm more likely to stick with it through the day. 10. Check my blood sugar! This is a good way for me to monitor how well I'm doing with my eating. 11. Get a good nights sleep! When I sleep well I tend to eat less. 12. Add more fruits and veggies to my diet! 13. Reward myself for the small victories! |

All good ideas. I've begun my own push to lose weight and eating breakfast is one thing I struggle with. Good luck!
Great list. I do most of them, but not all. I'm terrible at getting a good breakfast - have just gotten out of practice.

Good luck to you! You can include belly dancing, a fun, fat burning weight losing exercise that is addictive! you won't even know you are dancing for 30 minutes already.

And that list will help too! I just can't buy the 'eat breakfast' one though, no matter how many times I'm told. I'm not hungry then! I'm hungry at night! How will eating at 7 a.m. keep me from eating at 11 pm I ask myself?

Hey I just had a suggestion for you. You mentioned you are going to write down all your food so I thought this site might be of interest to you. Check out www.sparkpeople.com and see if it's something you might want an account for. You can track your weight, enter all the foods you eat (and it'll tell you how many calories you're consuming so it's awesome for calorie tracking), give you personalized diet and exercise plans, you can track your exercise, and it has forums so you can connect with other members. There's also lots of helpful articles and recipes. Really helped me in January when I started on a weight loss plan.

Sounds like you have a good start. We just joined the Y and the kids and I go 3 times a week. It has been a good motivator for me.
